There are two main types of bladder tanks.  

1) The superior and most common bladder tank is one with a steel frame. The frame ensures that the bladder does not roll from side to side in heavy rainfalls giving you the security of ensuring your bladder tank stays exactly where it is installed. The frame also helps to maximise your water storage per cubic metre of storage space as the bladder fills to the shape of the frame. It also enables all the pipe work to be fixed to the frame via the unique eco sac® mounting plate. 2) The second type of bladder tank is a reinforced self-supporting bladder tank. Because the material is reinforced and self-supporting, a frame around the whole bladder tank is not necessary - but be aware that all frameless bladders may roll from side to side. If you are considering a reinforced bladder tank, we strongly recommend you only purchase a reinforced bladder tank with a fixed mounting plate and fittings that ensure that your pipe-work remains static and water tight (in accordance with AS3500). It is critical that the pipe work is not put under stress when your bladder tank fills and empties. There are no moving parts and the inlet/outlet pipes are static and easy to access on the end of the bladder tank. Multiple bladder tanks can be installed either side-by-side or end-to-end for almost unlimited rainwater storage. Once the bladder tanks are full, any excess water diverts to the existing storm water system so that there is no fear of over-filling.
